The sync ran. Here's what it got wrong.
ReconoSync checks every payout and deposit your QuickBooks or Xero sync posted, matches each one on its payout or batch ID, and puts the duplicates, netted fees and missed bank lines in one queue. Keep your connector. Nothing in the ledger gets deleted.
Matched on its payout or batch ID, not on a guess from amount and date. Fees, refunds and stays inside it are broken out.
ReconoSync adds entries and voids confirmed duplicates only after a person approves. Every fix can be undone for 90 days.
Every client book's exceptions in one list, so a firm checks twenty syncs on Monday morning, not twenty logins.
Every deposit, matched on its payout ID
Deposits rarely match the sales in the books. Fees come out first, refunds net against sales, and one payout covers many orders or stays. ReconoSync reads the payout report, finds the payout that equals the deposit to the cent, and breaks out what's inside it.
- Payout total equals the deposit to the cent
- Fees and the refund booked as their own lines in Stripe clearing
- All 38 charges were already in QBO from the sync, so none are imported again
- A2X posted the payout summary. ReconoSync checks it against the payout report.
- Refund on order #10492 matches a credit already in the books
- Gross sales, fees and refunds add up to the deposit
- Bank text names no listing and no guest
- Payout report total equals the deposit
- Each stay goes to its listing, with host fees split out
- Batch ID from the ServiceTitan export matches the deposit
- Each payment applied to the invoice it paid, so AR aging is right
- 1 payment was also entered by hand in QBO and is flagged
One queue for every client book
The sync reports success and moves on. ReconoSync lists what didn't tie out, across every book you keep, with the evidence next to each item and the fix one click away.
Ridgeline Heating & Air. Housecall Pro synced it at 2:14 and again at 2:16 for the same job #3391.
Lumen Candle Co. Imported by Synder and again by a bank rule. Sales are overstated by $86.
Summit Mechanical. In ServiceTitan batch #2207 and also entered by hand in QBO.
Ridgeline Heating & Air. On the bank statement, never in the QBO feed: $212.40, $180.00 and $220.00.
Lumen Candle Co. In the payout report, with no credit in the books.
Coastline Stays. A damage claim payout with no reservation attached.
Bars show the share of this week's deposits matched. Ridgeline's open items both trace to one Housecall Pro sync run on Oct 6.
Fixed by a person. Never deleted.
Two-way syncs can delete records. ReconoSync doesn't. Every fix is an added entry or an approved void, keyed to the payout or batch ID so it can't post twice, and you can undo it for 90 days.
The original stays. The copy has the same job #3391, customer, lines and date.
- The original is paid. The copy is open and inflates AR by $1,840.
- Both came from one Housecall Pro sync run, 2 minutes apart
- A void keeps the audit trail. Nothing is deleted.
- Matched 46 Stripe and Shopify payouts across 3 books
- Split 2 Airbnb payouts for Coastline Stays into 7 reservations
- Asked you about 1 duplicate she couldn't confirm
- Sent the week's tie-out report for each book
- Added Stripe fees $129.13 to Stripe clearing · payout po_…Q8kX
- Added refund $50.00 · same payout
- Voided INV-4418 (copy) after your approval
- Re-ran payout po_…Q8kX: already posted, skipped
Every sync breaks in its own way
The connector gets the data almost right. The last few percent is where the books stop tying out, and it looks different in every kind of business.
Bookkeeping firms
Twenty client books on five different syncs, and every one has to tie out by the 10th.
Every client in one queue →HVAC, plumbing & electrical
ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro or Jobber invoices and payments that post twice, or not at all.
Invoice and AR checks →Short-term rentals & PMs
One Airbnb or Vrbo deposit with generic bank text that covers five stays on three listings.
Payout to reservation →Shopify sellers
Deposits net of fees, refunds and chargebacks that never match the sales in the books.
Gross, fees, refunds →Stripe & digital products
A clearing account that never reaches zero, and charges imported by two tools at once.
Clearing account to $0 →Owners who keep their own books
You don't need another connector. You need someone to check what the one you have did.
Weekly tie-out email →What bookkeepers and owners say about the sync
"After syncing, invoices must be reviewed, corrected…"
"Do not two-way sync."
The Housecall Pro to QuickBooks sync creates duplicate invoices.
The Jobber to Xero sync deleted client records.
The QuickBooks bank feed misses 3 to 4 transactions a day.
The Shopify to Xero sync app is rated 2.6★, and the QuickBooks connector migration drew a cluster of 1★ reviews.
From public job posts, software reviews and forums. These people are not ReconoSync customers.
Keep your connector. ReconoSync checks its work.
ReconoSync reads what the native sync, A2X or Synder wrote to QuickBooks or Xero, then checks it against the payout reports and the bank feed.

Questions bookkeepers ask
Straight answers on price, what ReconoSync catches, and what it touches in the ledger.
What is ReconoSync?
ReconoSync is the exception queue that runs after your QuickBooks Online or Xero sync. It reads what ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, Airbnb, Guesty, Shopify or Stripe posted to the books, checks it against the payout report and the bank feed, and matches every deposit on its payout or batch ID. Anything that does not tie out, such as a duplicate invoice, a deposit net of fees or a missed bank line, goes to one queue for a person to fix.
Is ReconoSync another connector like A2X or Synder?
No. A2X, Synder and the native FSM and store syncs move the data into QuickBooks or Xero, and ReconoSync does not replace them. ReconoSync checks what they wrote after the fact. It catches the errors a connector does not report on its own: invoices synced twice, Stripe charges imported by two tools, Airbnb payouts that land as one deposit for several reservations, and bank-feed lines that never arrived.
How much does ReconoSync cost?
The Software plan is $199 a month and covers up to 10 client books, so about $20 a book. Managed is $590 a month and adds a named reconciler who clears the queue for up to 3 books. Firm is custom-priced for bookkeeping firms with more books or a backlog of past months. Every plan is month-to-month with no setup fee.
Is ReconoSync cheaper than hiring someone to check the sync?
Usually, yes. Job posts for a QuickBooks billing and AR coordinator, whose job is to review and correct invoices after the sync, pay $12 to $18 an hour, which is about $1,040 to $1,560 a month at 20 hours a week. Job posts for a short-term-rental accountant list about $600 a month per operator, and Shopify payout reconciliation about $250 a month per store. ReconoSync Managed is $590 a month for up to 3 books, with the software and the person included.
Will ReconoSync change or delete anything in my books?
ReconoSync never deletes a transaction and never overwrites one. It starts read-only. When you turn on fixes, it can add a missing entry, record fees and refunds as separate lines against a clearing account, or void a confirmed duplicate, and only after a person approves each fix. Every fix is logged with the payout or batch ID it came from and can be undone for 90 days. Because every fix is keyed to that ID, running the same payout twice never posts it twice.
How does ReconoSync reconcile Airbnb payouts with generic bank text?
The bank deposit usually says little more than "AIRBNB" and an amount, and one payout can cover several reservations and listings. ReconoSync reads the payout report from Airbnb or your property-management system, finds the payout whose total matches the deposit to the cent, and splits it into the reservations, host fees and adjustments inside it. The deposit is then matched to the right listings instead of sitting in undeposited funds.
What kinds of sync errors does ReconoSync catch?
The common ones are duplicate invoices or payments from an FSM sync, deposits that arrive net of Stripe, Shopify or Square fees while the books show gross sales, Airbnb and Vrbo payouts with generic bank text, the same Stripe charge imported by two tools, refunds and chargebacks with no matching entry, and bank-feed lines that never reach QuickBooks. One QuickBooks user reported the bank feed missing 3 to 4 transactions a day, which only shows up when someone checks the feed against the statement.
